Scholarship

The Frank Colalella Scholarship is designed to support students pursuing a career in a trade or business.  The scholarship aims to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to their chosen trade.  

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be current high school seniors.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 on a 5.0 scale. 
  • Applicants must be planning to pursue a trade and have completed at least one Career Tech Edu (CTE) course. 
  • Applicants must write an essay addressing the provided prompt.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need. 
  • Preference may be given to students who have shown leadership in the CTW courses or extracurricular activities related to their chosen trade.  

Application Process

  1. Interested students should complete the Frank Colalella Scholarship application form in its entirety.  The application window opens on September 1, 2024 and will close at midnight on February 28, 2025.  
  2. Along with the application, students must submit the following documents:
    – Official transcript showing current GPA. 
    – Essay addressing the provided prompt.
  3. All materials must be submitted by the specified deadline to the Frank Colalella Charitable Foundation. The application cut-off date is March 1, 2025

Essay Prompt

Please provide a personal statement (500-700 words) that includes the following:

  • Your reasons for choosing a trade/workforce program.
  • Your career goals and how this program will help you achieve them.
  • Any relevant experiences or skills you have that make you a suitable candidate for this program.
  • How this scholarship will impact your education and future career.
